Team Creation Help Guide

Thinking about starting your own team? Follow the checklist below to assist you!

1: Determine Division of Play: The best way to start a team is to figure out what division(s) you can play in. For example, if you are silver skater then you can only have a team in the silver or gold divisions. However, if you are a goalie, you can build your team into whichever division...depending on the ranks of the players you recruit. To figure out your player rank; for NEW players click the following link https://www.gtihl.com/page/show/1122644-league-rules-and-forms and click the document titled 'Proper Division Placement' for the pre-rank calculator or for RETURNING players click the following link https://www.gtihl.com/leagueregistration and click the document titled 'Player Power Rankings'.

2: Decide on Your Team Name and Colors: This step allows you to put your creative hat on. You can pick the color combination of your choosing. Team names will be rejected if they are deemed offensive or inappropriate. If you need to verify a name, please email Board@GTIHL.com of your desired team name. If you need creative ideas you can click on the following link https://www.gtihl.com/page/show/5694283-divisions-spring-2021- and go through the divisions of current and past teams. Here you can see other team names, color schemes, and logos.

3: Design Your Jerseys and Logo: Visit one of the following places to get your logo and jersey made. Online orders may require a certain minimum order. They can also help you with your color scheme if you need further assistance. Costs vary so it is ultimately up to you to decide where to go.

Locally: Advanced Incentives, Jupmode, Glass City Apparel, or other custom jersey shops.

Online: Custom Ink, Squad Locker, or other online jersey shops.

App: Fivver (Logos only). Just search custom sports logos and find a logo maker you like.

For other rules about jerseys please click on the following link https://www.gtihl.com/page/show/1122644-league-rules-and-forms and click on the document titled 'League Rules and Structure'. Due to us playing outdoors in the heat, we suggest you do not wear fully black jerseys or cotton. Sports wicking/polyester shirts are suggested.

4: Recruit Players: Now you need players to fill your roster! You can do this by clicking the following link https://www.gtihl.com/page/show/1103449-free-agents and contacting the free agents that are posted. Keep in mind that they must adhere to the division rankings you plan to register for. Another option is to go on Facebook and search for the following page 'GTIHL Players Association'. The page is not ran by the league, but it has hundreds of people on it that currently play or want to play. Just make a post that you are recruiting players for a team and people can comment on your post.

5:  Follow the Team Registration Help Guide: Now that you have the players you need for your team, please use our guide below to help you register your team.
